What is ADHD?
ADHD can hold you back from achieving your potential at work, education and personal life. It is often associated with difficult feelings of embarrassment, guilt, shame and utter frustration. Sufferers of ADHD often know they are more than capable of meeting the demands placed on them. They are really committed to the task and want to prove to themselves and others that they can do it. Yet, they repeatedly get frustrated due to their attention deficit, impulsivity and restlessness. This can often lead to anxiety and some people with ADHD go through periods of deep depression.
ADHD is commonly associated with problems in sleep, daytime tiredness which can come in waves, marked fluctuations in mood, tendency to overindulge in risky behaviours and drinking/drugs.
The core pharmacological interventions for ADHD are relatively straightforward. To unleash your full potential though, a highly personalised care plan based on your particular life circumstances and ambitions is needed. I provide such comprehensive plans which include psychological, behavioural and physiological interventions informed by my 20 plus years of experience in Psychiatry.
